One of the most popular questions I get from consultants, customers, and prospects focus around understanding SAML 2.0 and how it works for the end user.
I recently created the following video to explain and demonstrate the typical flow between a user’s browser, their ServiceNow instance, and the company’s Identity Provider during the SAML 2.0 authentication process.
Nice video production. In the SP-initiated flow, how does the SP know what IdP to redirect the user to? Did you omit the IdP discovery step?
Tom
@Tom…that is a configuration step. To see how to configure ServiceNow with SAML, and to specify the IdP URL, etc, check out this video:
How to configuration ServiceNow for SAML
Nice video, I am just trying to create an IDP for my organization. i am trying to do it in .NET. I don’t really know that how should generate the SAMLResponse. Is there any resource you can direct me to from where I can learn that how can I do that?
Hi Osama, We provide a service that has simple connectors for .NET applications that want to act as SAML IDPs into service now. You can find out more at: http://www.assurebridge.com/integrations/saml-2-0-sso-integration-with-servicenow/
Nice video Tom!
Thanks,
Oleg
Sorry, meant to say nice video John!
