As a manager John was approachable, professional, supportive, encouraging and enjoyable to work for. He was highly missed when he left the team. He always took the time to understand what was needed and acted on it. During yearly meetings I found he always remembered accomplishments that I had forgotten about. John was always trying to find ways to better his team. We started having periodic training meetings that were very helpful. He not only encourage us to better our skills, he was doing the same himself.
